Law School Launchpad Workshop - FREE - June 2021

For Students Entering Law School in FALL 2021 | Daily 1-Hour Sessions

Sample Session Schedule

LAW SCHOOL: A WHOLE NEW WORLD

In Session 1 , you will learn about how and why law school is different than undergrad, the materials I recommend for your success, and other key information that you need to know right off the bat. This section is critical, because I address a few things that many first-year students do wrong right from the start.
ORIENTING YOURSELF TO THE LAW

In Session 2, you will become familiar with the law: where it comes from, common terms, and the structure of law school itself. This starts you off with a strong foundation for understanding the legal process and will make things a lot easier as you start reading cases.
INTRO TO LAW SCHOOL LEARNING

Session 3 introduces you to law school learning. We’ll cover the mental aspects of learning, discover your learning preferences, and move into some introductory exercises that start you down the path of thinking and writing like a lawyer.
HOW TO STUDY IN LAW SCHOOL

Session 4 gets into the good stuff–learning science and how to study. This session is CRITICAL and helps you study the right way by exposing the strategies that don’t work, showing you the ones that do, and helping you deal with obstacles like stress and procrastination.

Meet the Coach

Kristin DiBiase

Kristin DiBiase

Founder, Your Law School Coach

Kristin DiBiase has been empowering students in higher education for over 15 years. While earning her J.D. with a concentration in Alternative Dispute Resolution at Valparaiso University, she led the law school student body as president of the Student Bar Association and vice president of the Black Law Students Association.

After passing the bar, Kristin worked in academics for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for more than a decade, analyzing student academic progress, developing learning strategies and educational programming, and advocating for students with ADHD and learning disabilities. Her love of working with students led her to join the Office of Academic and Bar Success at Indiana University McKinney School of Law as the program’s Associate Director.*

After synthesizing her expertise from those experiences, Kristin founded Your Law School Coach, an academic consulting service that levels the academic playing field for students of color, first-generation law students, and students with ADHD. To support them in their pursuit of the legal profession, she combines cognitive science and academic coaching to strengthen students’ learning ability and lead them to classroom and bar exam success. She also specializes in life coaching for law students and attorneys with ADHD.

Kristin is a professional member of the American Bar Association (ABA), Association of Academic Support Educators (AASE), Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA), and Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD). Outside of her work with students, she is a classically trained singer, an avid moviegoer and a major Disney fan. She and her husband are the proud pet parents of a normal-size cat and a gigantic dog.
